English Curriculum Classes PP – IV Orientation Workshop
|
English Curriculum Classes PP – IV Orientation Workshop began from 5th December and concluded on 14th December at Paro. Bill Buggie, Outcome 1 Coordinator and Sharon Hill, Consultant facilitated the workshop along with 17 Bhutanese teachers, identified as resource persons.
A total of 154 Classes PP to IV English teachers from all the Dzongkhags participated in this workshop. Later during the vacation these participants will assist the resource persons in holding similar workshops in their own Dzongkhag schools clusters. The aim is to ensure that as many Bhutanese teachers as possible can attend the orientation of teaching the new PP – IV English curriculum.
The Ministry of Education hosted a dinner for the facilitators on the closing day, during which the Director of School Education, Mr. Tshewang Tandin thanked everyone, especially, Mr. Bill Buggie for working consistently and continuously for the last four years on revising the English curriculum in Bhutan.
Simultaneously, the Math Curriculum Workshop funded by the World Bank was held by CAPSD, Paro and resourced by Canadian consultants. Visit from the Medical-in-Charge, Canadian High Commission, New Delhi: Dr. Joseph Cinanni was in Bhutan from 6th to 9th December to meet with some Bhutanese doctors and Ministry of Health officials. He was here to review the medical procedure for the Canadian visas with the identified doctors who would be involved with the medical examinations. He was accompanied by his wife, Teresa Cinanni. |
